About Us

About Us

Empowering Lives Through Real Change

The OUT Impact Coalition (OIC), based in Olympia, WA, help people create real change through evidence-based rehabilitation. Founded by Chris and Ginny Burton—who bring lived experience—OIC closes systemic gaps and equips participants with tools for sustainable independence.

Our Separation, Services, Accountability (SSA) model reduces violence and drug use, fostering community safety, family reunification, abstinence-based recovery, and rebuilt lives.

Our Approach

OIC’s holistic 10-module O-UT curriculum, led by facilitators with lived experience, drives intentional behavior change, addressing root causes, not symptoms. Our village approach builds supportive communities, empowering self-sufficiency. We’re instructors, not gatekeepers, aiming to work ourselves out of a job.

In-Prison Programming:

At Olympic Correction Center, our 6-month cohorts, each with 25 participants, teach self-sufficiency via not mandatory classes, alumni-led advisory boards, service projects, and public speaking. Alumni support continues twice-monthly post-graduation.

Community Cohorts:

We offer in-person and remote programs nationally.

Holistic Support:

We aid credit-building, financial growth, and homeownership.

Community Partners:

Bi-annual events connect students with employers, educators, unions, mentors, and housing providers.

Public Speaking:

We train speakers, aiming for a paid speaking bureau for graduates.

Case Management:

Pre/post-release support for education, employment, housing, FAFSA, and resume building.

Entrepreneurship:

We connect graduates with mentors for business ventures. OIC hires from our student base, with staff trained under Ginny Burton.
